Besides all the trips I had during my
summer camp, the most exciting thing must be making the yearbook for my summer
camp – ACLI, which infers American Culture and Language Institute. After I was
distributed into Level Three, making yearbook had become the most important
thing to work on except studies. It was a long period of time to collect all the
information, articles, photos that we need since we have so many things to
collect. And also we have so many trips that were happening, so actually we just
collected all the stuff that we need and combined them in the last week and to
come up with a complete yearbook. This was a really long process, but I think
that I would never forget this unique experience.
The distribution of jobs has always been
a problem. There were totally eleven students in Level Three, and there are
totally twenty eight sections in the yearbook that we should work on, which
means we could not get the same amount of works or even we would not be able to
pick the section we would like to work on. But luckily, we were such a
warm-hearted group; we arranged all the job distribution together and there was
nobody that against the arrangement – we were all pretty happy that we have got
what we wanted to do. After the arrangement, our homeroom teacher Ms. Marino
gave us a list of the jobs and the corresponding names.
Then it was time to collect all the
things we need. As I said before, we need to collect all the things before the
last week and combine all the things in one single week. I was in charge of a
teacher interview and a section of a trip, which was the Washington trip. I
thought it may not be enough for me to do so many works in just one week, so I
was collecting all the things I need and combining the things that I could
combine at that time, thus I could spend less time the last week and I could
also avoid from the situation of running out of time. When I was interviewing
the teacher I supposed to interview, who was Mrs. Mitchell, it happened to be
very funny. Because when I was interviewing her, her daughter came! There were
many questions such as the craziest thing she’d ever done; she didn’t want her
daughter to know. So the atmosphere became even funnier. It was not awkward, it
was just funny.
Time flew by, and soon it was the last
week. We eventually officially initiated our work. Since I have down most of
the works the days before the last week, actually I was not in a hurry. Now for
me the only thing I needed to do was to arrange the overall framework and some
decorations. And soon I finished my work. At last, we combined all our works
together, and it turned out to be a wonderful yearbook.
I would never forget this special
experience of making a yearbook for my summer camp.
